Something off with your pool? Licensed San Diego pool contractor (#1106211) who finds the cause first, serving homeowners since 2012.
The water was clear on Friday. By Sunday it's cloudy, and the pump sounds fine. Or the heater runs, but the pool never warms up. Or something just feels off, and you can't say what. Pools have a lot of parts, so it's hard to tell which one is the problem. That's where pool troubleshooting comes in. As part of our swimming pool repair in San Diego, World Pools Inc troubleshoots first and tells you what's causing the problem before any repair starts. We've served San Diego pool owners since 2012. Call us or request a quote, and we'll find out what's going on.
When something is off with your pool, you want the real cause, not a guess at parts. Here is what you can count on.
Before any repair starts, you hear exactly what's causing the problem. We don't guess at parts and hope.
A problem in one place often shows up in another. We look at your pump, filter, heater, and controls together, not one part at a time.
World Pools Inc is a licensed pool contractor (license #1106211). If the cause is a leak, a worn part, or a damaged finish, we can repair it, so you don't need a second company.
Once you know the cause, you'll know what the repair costs before we start. No surprises halfway through.
A pool has a lot of parts working together: the skimmer, pump, filter, heater, pipes, and controls. When one of them acts up, it can look like something else. A loud pump, cloudy water, and a falling water level can each have a different cause. That's why we don't start by swapping parts. We troubleshoot your whole system first, find what's causing the problem, and tell you before any repair starts. San Diego's sun and long swim season keep pools working hard, so problems tend to show up right when you want to swim.
From Rancho San Diego and Eastlake to National City and La Jolla, we troubleshoot pools for homeowners across San Diego, as one part of our full swimming pool repair service. Don't see your neighborhood? Call us. There's a good chance we still cover it.
Tap what you're seeing. You can pick more than one.
Tap what you're seeing, and pick more than one if you can. The picture shows where each sign can start, and where signs overlap. This is a quick guide, not a diagnosis. Only a real look at your pool can tell for sure.
Cloudy or green water doesn't always mean a chemical problem. Often the water just isn't moving or filtering the way it should, because of a worn filter, a tired pump, or equipment that isn't running long enough. Warm San Diego weather can turn cloudy water green fast, so it's worth checking early.
If the jets are weak or the skimmer barely pulls, something is slowing the water down. It can be a blocked skimmer, a pump losing strength, a dirty filter, or a blocked return. Leaves, palm fronds, and debris can block a skimmer fast.
A pump, heater, or panel that won't start isn't always broken. It can be the controls, the power feeding the equipment, or the equipment itself. We look at all of them together, so the repair goes where the problem is.
A pool that won't warm up is easy to spot on a cool morning, but the heater isn't always the problem. Weak flow from a dirty filter, or the settings in your controls, can keep a heater from doing its job. We look at all three, so you know where the fix belongs.
Losing water faster than evaporation explains often points to a leak. It can start in the plumbing or at the equipment pad. We trace where the water is going.
Grinding, humming, or gurgling means something needs attention. It can be the pump itself, or air getting in at the skimmer. If it sounds bad, turn it off and call us.
Seeing two or three of these? That's common, and it helps us narrow it down. Call us, and tell us what you see and hear. We'll take it from there.

We repair pumps, heaters, filters, and more, and we tell you when replacing makes more sense. See our pool equipment repair.
Cracks, rough spots, and stains in the surface need their own repair. See our pool resurfacing & crack repair.
Sometimes the answer is a setting or one worn part. We tell you that too, so you only fix what needs fixing.
A few details make troubleshooting faster.
Cloudy water, weak jets, a loud pump, a flashing light. Tell us what you notice, even if it seems small.
Did it start after a storm, a power outage, or new equipment? The timing often points to the cause.
Tell us what you've changed or checked. A quick photo helps too. It helps us narrow it down faster.
If you know the type of pump, filter, or heater you have, tell us. If you don't, that's fine. We'll take a look.
The price depends on what's wrong. A loose part at the pump is a different job than a hidden leak. The kind of equipment you have, and how hard the problem is to reach, also change the number. That's why we find the cause first and give you a real price before any repair starts, not a guess over the phone.
